Courses Available
NCO-100 Noncommissioned Officer Basic Development: Step one in the NCO Development Program. This course delves into the role and responsibilities of the Noncommissioned Officer in the SFMC and issues relevant to an NCO in a SFMC unit. Prerequisite for this course: PD-100.
NCO-120 Basic History and Traditions of Noncommissioned Officers: This exam is focused on the History and Traditions of Non Commissioned Officers (NCO). This course covers both the real and fictional history of NCO’s including that of SFMC NCO’s and their real-life counterparts in Earth’s history. Prerequisite for this course: NCO-100.
NCO-151 Noncommissioned Officers Intermediate Studies: Moving on from the basic studies of the NCO Academy, this course is based on a variety of situations and elements that any NCO should be familiar with. Prerequisite for this course: NCO-100.
NCO-201 Noncommissioned Officer Advanced Development: Step two in the NCO Development Program. This course delves more deeply into the role and responsibilities of the Noncommissioned Officer in the SFMC and issues relevant to an NCO in a SFMC unit. Prerequisite for this course: NCO-100.
NCO-251 Senior NCO Dynamics: A course designed for the more senior NCO, this exam works through some of the dynamics that an experienced NCO should have a good understanding of. Prerequisite for this course: NCO- 201.
NCO-301 Noncommissioned Officer Development Degree: The final step of the NCO Development Education Program, applicants for this course have two options:
NCO-301A For the final step in the Non-Commissioned Officer studies the student must complete an independent studies project. The independent studies project must either consist of a paper or another approved project. The student MUST submit a topic or project description to the Branch Director for approval. Once approved the student will then have 10 weeks to submit their independent studies project for grading. After submittal and if the student receives a passing grade, then the student will be awarded a Bachelor of Military Science Degree with a Concentration in Non-Commissioned Officer Studies. Prerequisite for this course: NCO-201.
- The Branch Director has the authority to approve or deny any and all requests for this course and their decisions are final.
- Projects MUST in some way shape or form relate to the SFMC and the branch for which you are applying to.
- You must submit a topic or project description when requesting this course. Any requests without a topic or project description will not be honored.

Specifications / descriptions and/or technical drawings of new technology relating to the branch.

A short story that utilizes the material in the branch.

An addition to the branch’s manual relating to a topic not covered by the existing manual.

A new exam and answers for the branch (Please note that this is at the Branch Directors discretion).
