School of Aerospace

This is school instructs its students in all aspects of SFMC Aerospace operations. Students will learn the roles and responsibilities for ground and maintenance crews, how to perform as forward aerospace controllers, and even advanced aerospace combat techniques. The Aerospace School is administered through the Office of the Commandant, STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy by the Aerospace Branch Director. Courses are currently available through the AE-301 level and all are available online for immediate credit.

Courses Available

AE100 Aerospace Basic Course: This is step one in the Aerospace Branch Education Program. This course acts as an introduction to all phases of the Aerospace Branch.

Prerequisite for this course: PD100


 AE110 MOS Familiarization Course: This course is designed to make the student aware of the MOS’s available to Aerospace Branch Marines and to educate them on the courses they will need to take in order to be fully qualified for the various occupational specialties.

 AE120 History and Traditions: This course focuses on the rich history and traditions of SFMC Aerospace Branch   The course covers both real and fictional Aerospace and other Aero activities as well as other aspects relevant to the topic.

AE201 Aerospace Advanced Course: Step two in the Aerospace Branch Education Program. This course delves into Aerospace Operations in more depth and detail.

Prerequisite for this course: PD100, AE100


AE291 Aerospace Atmospheric Pilot Training: This course offers Marines an alternative route to earning the right to wear SFMC Aerospace Wings. AE-291 does not, however, confer a degree upon successful completion. This challenging course concentrates on the real-life aspects of aerodynamics, control surfaces, navigation, flight hazards, instruments, and military flying.

NOTE: Upon successful completion of this course, please email the Branch Director your preferred “Callsign” that you would like to use. It will be assigned to you if it is available.

AE295 Flight Engineering School: The next course in the flight qualification series, this school is designed to challenge the student to learn more about the technical aspect of aviation in the Star Trek realm. While AE-291 concentrated on different aspects of flying a craft, this course concentrates on the technical aspects of a craft.

AE301 Aerospace Independent Study Course: For the final step in the Aerospace Branch studies the student must complete an independent studies project. The independent studies project must either consist of a paper or another approved project. The student MUST submit a topic or project description to the Branch Director for approval. Once approved the student will then have 10 weeks to submit their independent studies project for grading. After submittal, and if the student receives a grade of Honors or Distinction on a 301-level course, they will be issued an Academic Excellence Award.
