School of MECHA

This school instructs its students in all phases of Operation, Maintenance, Tactics and Logistics of Mechanized Enhanced Combat Heavy Armor (or MECHA) units in theory and in practice. Graduate from this School and you will be well prepared to “Wield the Lightning”. The Mecha School is administered through the Office of the Commandant, STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy by the Mecha Branch Director.

Courses Available

ME100 MECHA Basic Course: Step one in the MECHA Branch Education Program. This course acts as an introduction to all phases of the MECHA Branch.

Prerequisite for this course: PD100


ME102 Traditions and Organization of the MECHA Branch: This course is designed not to be hard, but rather to challenge the STARFLEET Marine to be better informed about the history of the ME Branch. As an SFMC Marine, you should know this material and taking this test will strengthen your knowledge of the Corps.

ME104 MOS Familiarization Course: This course is designed to make the student aware of the MOS’s available to MECHA Branch Marines and to educate them on the courses they will need to take in order to be fully qualified for the various occupational specialties.

ME151: MECHA Intermediate Course: This course is a deeper look into the history, traditions, and operations of the MECHA Branch

ME-181 Advanced Mecha Engineering Course: This course will cover advanced design considerations for Mecha and requires the student to design two different Mecha based upon mission parameters. Prerequisite for this course: ME-181.


ME201 MECHA Piloting Course: This course covers details about piloting a MECHA, from basic movements to jumps and attacks.

ME202 MECHA Advanced Course: This course delves into MECHA Operations in more depth and detail.

Prerequisite for this course: PD100, ME100


ME301 MECHA Branch Independent Study Course: For the final step in the MECHA Branch studies the student must complete an independent studies project. The independent studies project must either consist of a paper or another approved project. The student MUST submit a topic or project description to the Branch Director for approval. Once approved the student will then have 10 weeks to submit their independent studies project for grading. After submittal, and if the student receives a grade of Honors or Distinction on a 301-level course, they will be issued an Academic Excellence Award.
